Fast forward from the last Bridget Jones movie. Bridget (Renee Zellweger, who looked very tired) has broken up with Mr. Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), is single, post-40, and trying to figure out how and when she will meet Mr. Right to avoid becoming a spinster. Enter Jack (literally), played by Patrick Dempsey; then enter Mr. Mark Darcy (literally); the question becomes, who is the father? Overall, I thought the movie was just rather silly but offered some entertainment and laughs along the way. It all seemed a bit far-fetched and predictable, and I didn’t think the acting was that great. But, my favorite part of the movie, and why I give it a thumbs up, is Emma Thompson as the doctor. She was absolutely great and hilarious in every scene that she was in (thankfully she was in many). Overall, the movie is light with some good moments.
