Documentary that explores principally the work of two pre-eminent researchers in whole food, plant-based diets – Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of the China Study, and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, a researcher in whole food, plant-based diet. Both are medical doctors who have spent a large part of their careers examining the biochemistry of nutrition. There are also several case studies of patients whose individual health profiles improved remarkably under a strict diet. The movie serves as a good introduction to some of the science underlying a plant-based, whole foods diet. It also allows the viewer to get to know these two doctors who never really knew each other until well into their careers. Thumbs up for a good survey film for novices and reinforcement for those who already follow plant-based diets. My main criticism is that the film never really explores the science behind the approach which is compelling.
